WHAT WE DO IN THE COMMUNITY:

CVMA® TX 23-18 was created in Amarillo in July 2017.
We meet twice on a monthly basis, the Chapter meetings and 22TONONE. The Chapter meeting is when members attend open/close meetings and discuss business. The 22TONONE is informal and an open way we discuss ways to prevent or deter suicides. Since the Chapter’s existence we have assisted veterans in need of money to pay bills or lost home due to fire, donated to local veteran charities, cleaned property, fed the homeless, escorted funerals locally or out of State, donated to Hurricane relief to fellow
veterans in affected areas, and even had members fix a vehicle
of a Veteran in need. There are two Veteran Nursing Homes in Amarillo that we assist and they are the Community Living Centers (CLC) at the VA Hospital and Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home. Each home usually has an average of about 100 residents.
